Too many West Virginians are going without healthcare. Oftentimes, they have to choose between Health Insurance and their wallets. Most West Virginians have to travel far to see a doctor, and specialists. After the passage of the “Big Beautiful Bill” many WV are at risk of losing Medicaid insurance, and 7 rural hospitals are at risk of closing permanently. Mark will fight for access to healthcare by providing subsidies to rural hospitals to keep the doors open for West Virginians. He will also fight to strengthen Medicaid with common sense legislation such as ending the ridiculous 2 year waiting period. Affordability is just as important as access to healthcare. Prescription drug prices and healthcare costs are way too much and keep rising. Mark will fight for increased transparency in medical billing, and lower the cost of care, to make sure families aren’t buried in medical debt for treatment they needed.
